Sample Itinerary
Day 01

Leave Rawalpindi by road (Via KKH) for Chilas on a 12 hour drive by minibus. Overnight stay in Shangrila Tourist Resort.

Day 02

Early morning departure for Skardu by driving along the mighty river Indus for six hours. Overnight stay in K-2 Motel.

Day 03

Porter arrangements, purchases and sightseeing etc. in Skardu

Day 04

Skardu to Kachura by jeeps for 20 miles and then 2 hours easy walk to Chokke village and camp there. The Chokke river is known for trout and supposed to be one of the best fishing spots in the Northern Area.

Day 05 - 07

Camping along the Chokke river, walking through some of the most remote villages of Baltistan and summer pastures with herds of grazing Yak and Zhoza and the lush green slopes which will bring us to the outskirts of Alampir Pass.

Day 08

This is going to be a hard day because we start our ascent to the Alampir Pass(15,000-ft). The panoramic view of the pass is really incredible. The famous Nanga Parbat (26,660-ft) is on one side and Deosai plains on the other side. After spending sometime in the Pass we will start our descent towards a beautiful village known as Khans on the other side of the Alampir Pass in the Astore Valley.

Day 09

A 6 to 8 hours walk will take us to Gudia a village of Astore valley, jeeps would be waiting there to take us to Astore proper and the picturesque Rama lake with pine trees, lush green slopes and above all the majestic Nanga Parbat towering over the valley.

Day 10

A 6 hour drive to Gilgit by jeeps, overnight stay at PTDC Motel Chinar Inn.

Day 11

Early morning departure for Besham via KKH. Overnight stay at PTDC Motel at Besham for 8 to 10 hours.

Day 12

Leave Besham for Rawalpindi by a 6 to 8 hours drive. Arrive Rawalpindi.
